Ladybug Love

2013-10-07 12.30.23The Italians say they’re lucky

It’s a gift when they land on you

With elegance that’s fun and sporadic

They appear magically, alighting on me

Vibrant, bold red, distinct black dots

Just so delightful to look at

No wonder they bring good luck

They remind me to be silly

To think on pretty things

Their button-shaped bodies

Inspiring me to think creatively

They never stay long

They know they don’t really need to

Ladybug love never takes long

It can never be taken away

Bringing feelings that all will be fine

A gift of nature and life

Lite and beautiful

Just down-right lovely

As are so many things

Listening Deeply

A power overlooked

Is to listen with all of me

This is harder than it appears

Closing my eyes may help me

At times many thoughts crowd

A jumble of noise within me

It flows into awareness

Hearing what’s outside now within me

Listening recognizes and honors

Accepting all as part of me

Allowing all to be as it is

Not afraid that it touches me

Fall leaves of changing colors gliding

Winter flakes in white crystals covering

Spring emerging through flowers growing

Eternal sun radiating warm energy flowing

Listen…listen deeply…Love resounding

A lost sense awakening within me

A Beautiful Start to the Day

This gallery contains 11 photos.

Here are some photos I have taken recently. They remind me of the pure, simplicity of the beauty found in everyday nature that is around us. Since I am in the Dominican Republic right now, I am surrounded by lush green jungles of trees and flowers, gloriously beautiful beaches with stunning sunsets and awakening sunrises, […]

Life Comes So Fast

Astounding and shocking

In the blink of an eye

You may miss it, not see it

If you’re walking quickly by

As winter melts to spring

And spring births new life

One day the branches are bare

The next, full of lush green life

They may start small

But new shoots are the brightest green

As if shouting for joy

We’re here! It is spring!

The energy of all nature

It grows and flows, it sings

What a dance it displays

A fast intense dance of living things

Then branches are dressed

Flowers brightly bloom

Every sense is come alive

From eye’s delight to fragrance swoon

For life is so full

It’s thriving with fierce speed

To birth, to grow,

From even a seed

Like seeing clouds in the sky

They seem to pass so slow

Yet we know in the heavens

They’re racing speed is an intense flow

Life is meant to move

Can you feel it? Do you see it?

The beauty of contrast

When we don’t resist

To let go and be still

Knowing we’re still moving

Allowing and accepting

To go with the flow, we’ll grow

It carries us if we let it…

A Bee Knows How to Be

22e27c04d52a11e28d2722000a1f8fa0_7I see them soar, I take a look close

From flower to flower they go

And yes, they gather

And yes, they do

Such fun they have it seems

A Bee seems to know

What to do, where to go

They receive and share life

Pollen gold

Beating wings, rapid speed

Alighting on petal colors bright…

They know who they are

Bees they be

And in being they thrive and live true…

Nature loves to show us

No effort it must make

All life simply is

It exist

What else can be more beautiful

Than the value of life

The sheer existence of each living thing.

The Magic of the Denver Botanic Gardens

Sometimes, a new beautiful place is right next door and practically “right under your nose” as the saying goes. This was just such a case for me. If you haven’t visited this amazing treasure of Denver, enjoying reading about it and I hope you go experience it for yourself soon.

2013-05-28 19.41.49Have you ever lived in a place and realized after years there, that you had not experienced one of its most precious jewels? I have now been living in Colorado for almost thirteen years and just last night was my first visit to the Denver Botanic Gardens. There is nothing like visiting a gorgeous garden and getting outside, to enjoy and celebrate the season of Spring. This came to my mind as I strolled with my dear friend Tom to the gardens, which are excitedly located just a few blocks from my house in the downtown Denver neighborhood of Capitol Hill.

Arriving at our destination, we entered and immediately realized that we had come at one of the best times possible…the sun was setting behind large billowing clouds in the west, creating a light in the air that was pristine. Cast over everything was a dancing blend of…
